Music

Why do we have music in our lives?

  • It’s good for the soul! Music comes from a part of our heart and mind that we seldom communicate from. It helps us express joy, sorrow, love, hope. . . in a way that nothing else does. It is said that, “When you sing, you pray twice.”
  • It’s fun! A person has to work pretty hard to not smile when they sing, "If you’re happy and you know it shout. 'Amen!'"
  • There is math education in music. Keep the beat, singing together teaches us math.
  • There is literacy education in music.
  • Music helps us learn to listen.

So, we sing. We play games using music. And best of all we are enriched when Mrs. Zito joins us once a week for our special MUSIC TIME. Mrs. Zito – besides being lots of fun – is a music educator. When she leads us in music we have the benefit of her education and her joy in music to help us as we learn about letters, seasons, and life through song.
