Preschool Center

Facts about the Preschool Center

  • We offer care in two separate classrooms for children age three to five. This care is developmentally appropriate and follows a daily schedule. The curriculum is explained in the Preschool and Transition Rooms’ articles in the "Our Classrooms" section of this web site.
  • Besides our year round extended care we offer three preschool classes that provide a more "formal" school setting and is scheduled during the nine month school year. These classes are explained in the "Preschool Class" section of this site.

What Parents Must Supply

  • Make sure that you mark everything you send to the Center with your child’s name. Please refer to the list below for particular things for particular rooms.
  • Preschool Room: special blankets and a crib sheet to fit our mats, all food, extra clothes and socks.
  • Transition Room: if the child still takes an afternoon nap send any special blankets and a crib sheet to fit our mats. All children need to bring their food for breakfast and lunch. They should also bring extra clothes and socks.
  • Meals

    • Preschool and Transition Room: We will serve breakfast to children if they arrive between 6:30 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Parents must provide this meal. The individual room schedules vary. Again, please talk to your child’s own teachers to find out details for specific room.
    • In all rooms except the Infant Room the Center provides morning and afternoon snacks.

    Food

    • Breakfast and Lunch are provided by the children’s families and in the Preschool and Transition Rooms these meals are eaten “family style.” That means we will sit together and talk as we each eat our own meals. We will work on using our manners, making conversation and using good eating habits while we dine.
    • Snacks are provided in the Preschool and Transition Rooms by Kings School Kids. These snacks are also eaten family style.

    Hours

Care is provided Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
